Design Renewal

Refresh the overall visual design and user interface of ChoralLib to provide a more modern, accessible, and consistent experience across all pages and devices.

In Progress

Completed

Album & Video Playlists

Allow users to create personal playlists combining music albums and performance videos in a single ordered list. Supports drag-and-drop reordering, public sharing via URL, and adding items directly from album/video cards across the site.

May 2026

Passkey Authentication

Implement passkey-based authentication using WebAuthn, allowing users to sign in securely with biometrics, security keys, or device credentials without relying on passwords or third-party providers.

Apr 2026

Public Domain Score & Text Upload

Allow users to upload and share scores and lyrics that have entered the public domain due to copyright expiration. This will make historically significant choral works more accessible, enabling direct viewing and downloading of sheet music and original texts within the platform.

Apr 2026

Memorial Year Composer Information

Display composers who have milestone anniversaries (birth or death) in the current year. This helps users discover works by composers celebrating memorial years, supporting concert programming and repertoire selection for anniversary-themed performances.

Mar 2026

Personal & Organization Portfolio Pages

Enable individuals and organizations — such as choir members, conductors, composers, and choirs — to use the platform as a portfolio site. Features include article posting, detailed profile settings, and dedicated contact forms. If the person or organization already has data in ChoralLib, it can be linked to their portfolio page. This feature will be offered as a paid subscription plan.

Planned

Public API for Music Data

Develop a public API that allows external applications to retrieve information about scores, composers, and other music data. The API is planned to use a pay-per-use pricing model.

AI-Friendly Implementation

Promote AI-powered usage of the site to enhance the user experience for discovering and exploring choral music.
